Cian Buckley joined the firm in June 2021 after obtaining a degree in Law and French Law from University College Dublin. Specialising in insolvency law, restructuring, and tax advisory, he has successfully contributed to various corporate and tax restructuring assignments.
Cian’s responsibilities encompass preparing both solvent and insolvent companies for orderly winding-up processes and assisting in the preparation of Independent Expert Reports for companies entering Examinership. Additionally, he effectively liaises with clients, state bodies, and third parties, ensuring clear communication and comprehensive support throughout the restructuring process.
Cormac Mohan leads our Dublin-based Insolvency and Corporate Recovery team. A qualified accountant with a Diploma in Insolvency & Corporate Restructuring from the Law Society of Ireland, he is a member of the Insolvency Consultative Committee of Accountancy Bodies of Ireland (CCABI). Over the past 15 years, he has prepared Independent Expert Reports for directors in the Examinership process across various sectors.
Specializing in corporate finance, debt restructuring, examinerships, and both creditors’ and members’ liquidations, Cormac has a proven track record in accounting, corporate finance, and business turnaround. His expertise extends across a broad range of industries.
Before joining Fitzwilliam, Cormac held significant roles with Coca-Cola and Microsoft, where he managed operations and restructuring as Financial Controller in Norway, Finland, Denmark, and Switzerland during the early ’90s. He is also a certified mediator with the Mediators’ Institute of Ireland and a former President of CPA Ireland.
Robert Bourke completed his undergraduate degree in Law before pursuing postgraduate studies in Commercial Law and Applied Finance Law. He also studied at the Honourable Society of Kings Inns and was called to the Bar of Ireland.
As a Director at Fitzwilliam, Robert offers expert advice in insolvency and corporate restructuring law. He has extensive experience in both corporate and personal insolvency, including petitioning the High Court for company liquidations and appointing receivers over assets.
Robert has acted on behalf of liquidators and the Office of the Director of Corporate Enforcement (ODCE), seeking reliefs against corporate directors and handling cases of reckless trading. He has also provided regulatory and legislative advice to major Irish retail banks and managed multi-million euro disputes.
